Personnel and Hiring Resources Below you will find links to many of the online recruiting services and hiring information sources that are now available on the Internet. BusinessTown.com provides a lot of useful small business information, including a whole section on Managing People. Here you can learn how to hire, compensate and fire employees for your online business. As the name of this site suggests, Business at Home provides a lot of information for home based businesses. This site has a couple of articles that discuss the different tax implications between hiring a contractor and an employee, titled "Can you do it all yourself?" and "Sometimes employees can provide much-needed relief, sometimes a big headache." CareerBuilder is a recruiting site that you can use to post a job advertisement. It claims, through its "mega job search" technology, to have more jobs than anyone else. This technology gives it the capability to search not only its own database listing of jobs, but also those posted on other recruiting sites. You can post a job advertisement on Headhunter.net for as little as $20 per month. Additionally, as of this writing, its Web site has over 245,000 "quality" resumes that you can search by keyword, salary, work experience, ability to travel, and education level. It also has an employer resource center that includes advice on skills testing, reference checking, and employee assessment. With a credit card, you can post a job advertisement on Monster.com's Recruiting Office. You can also search its database by keyword to find example job advertisements for virtually every job function, like Web site development, e-commerce marketing, and Webmaster. HotJobs.com allows employers to make up to 20 job postings for $600 per month. If you are really desperate, you can also buy a banner advertisement that will point prospective employees to your job listings on HotJobs.com.
